Routine observes the routine patterns and behaviours found through inanimate objects, abstract human actions, and nature, all while contrasting these notions to the livelihood of human beings. When reflecting on the aspects that identify living organisms, there are three elements that come to mind: play (movement), breathing, and nourishment. A similarity between all three aspects is that they perform and inhabit repetitive cycles

Routine incorporates both computer-generated elements and footage captured with a Canon Mark IV. I envisioned a collage-like video piece in which CGI elements seamlessly blend into real-world footage. Given the experimental nature of this work, my approach relied on a trial-and-error process, refining techniques and aesthetics until I achieved a result that was both visually and conceptually compelling.
